By taking the bus you accept that every person has the right to:
- Be treated with respect
- Be treated in a friendly and courteous manner
- A safe, clean, and comfortable travelling or working environment.
As a passenger, this means you’re responsible for:
- Your own good behaviour
- Respecting other peoples’ rights
- Paying the correct fare and using your Bee Card to get discounted/concessionary travel
- Following any reasonable instructions from the driver or operator staff
- Following any request or instruction from ORC and/or our public transport staff
- Following any national guidelines about public transport, including wearing a face covering
- Following any ORC policies in relation to what you can and cannot take on the bus
- Respecting driver’s meal and break times, which may sometimes include door closures at terminuses.
- Telling us if you see anyone damaging the bus or not complying with this Code of Conduct.
You may be refused to board the bus or be asked to get off the bus if you:
- Threaten, bully or harass people on the bus – including the driver
- Swear or use bad language
- Eat, smoke, drink alcohol or vape on the bus
- Appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol
- Are in a filthy condition and likely to leave a mess on the bus as a result
- Tag, graffiti or damage the bus in any way
- Exhibit anti-social or disorderly behaviour
- Fail to comply with ORC policies, including those regarding animals on buses
- Have previously vandalised, defrauded or attempted to defraud the bus service.
