  • Listed as an Area of Significant Indigenous Vegetation in the Queenstown Lakes District Plan, where it is described as a steep montane lake surrounded by tussock farmland, and as a brown trout (Salmo trutta) fishery. 18

  • Species of Lepidoptera considered at risk recorded at Moke Lake include Helastia angusta and Pseudocoremia cineracia. 46
