Orbus Dunedin has partnered with My Little Local, the all-in-one Dunedin news and events app, to bring information to mobile users in an easier way.
Orbus has its own dedicated button under “Transport” with options for users of the app to link to their timetable, plan their journey, see the latest alerts and zoom into the network map.
My Little Local will also provide bus information when notifications are made about major events or diversions that affect everyone in Dunedin, helping users plan their day or week better.
Julian Phillips, ORC Public Transport Team Lead, said Orbus integration with My Little Local would give bus users a simple, all-in-one mechanism to get bus information.
“We know My little Local has a strong following, presenting locals with news and information in a very mobile-friendly way. With patronage increasing, and more people getting their information on mobile, this is one of the ways we are adapting to our customers’ demands.
“In the future, users will be able to access other services via the app such as topping up their fares online.”
Shay Dewey, founder of My Little Local said, “We are so excited to partner with Orbus to provide another great service via our app to the people of Dunedin. All the Orbus information will be right at users’ fingertips.”
He said that the transport section was one of the most popular on the app.
“We know that people prefer to use one app for many different activities versus many different apps each for one purpose. My Little Local is free to download from the App Store or Google Play, and it’s easy to use.”
During July, Orbus and My Little Local are celebrating the partnership by offering bus users the chance to win more than $2000 worth of prizes. Prizes include vouchers redeemable for product from retailers at the Bus Hub on Great King street including Farmers, Countdown, Smiths Sports Shoes, Look Sharp Store and F45 Training Gym.
To enter, download the app, enter the transport section and click on the giveaway button. You can enter to win the prize each week and double your chances by tagging a friend on Facebook. Winners will have to produce a GoCard and bus receipt to claim their prize. Winners will be drawn at the end of each week.
