Public notice is hereby given pursuant to S.95A Resource Management Act 1991 that the following application for resource consent has been received by Otago Regional Council.

Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited – Macraes Mine

Application No. RM24.184

For the site wide expansion of mining activities at Macraes Gold Mine. The proposal is bundled as a discretionary activity. Resource consents are required under the following statutory documents:

• Regional Plan: Water for Otago
• Regional Plan: Waste for Otago
• Regional Plan: Air for Otago
• Resource Management (National Enviornmental Standards for Freshwater) Regulations 2020

Purpose: The Macraes Phase Four (MP4) site wide expansion of mining activities at the Macraes Gold Mine

Location: Macraes Gold Mine at or about NZTM 2000 E1400818 N4972370

Legal Description of Property: Various. Refer to RM24.184 Notification Report.

Reasons for public notification: The Council must publicly notify an application if the Applicant requests that the application is publicly notified. Oceana Gold (New Zealand) Limited have requested that this application be publicly notified.

Please note that applications have also been made to the Dunedin City Council (LUC-2024-126) and Waitaki District Council (201.2024.2373) for this activity. If you intend to submit on matters which fall for consideration within the jurisdiction of those resource consents, then submissions will also need to be made to Dunedin City Council and Waitaki District Council.

Any person may make a submission on the application, but a person who is a trade competitor of the applicant may do so only if that person is directly affected by an effect of the activity to which the application relates that:

1. 1. adversely affects the environment; and
   2. does not relate to trade competition or the effects of trade competition.

Submissions must be dated and signed (unless submitted electronically) and must include the following information:

1. 1. Your name, postal address and telephone number (email and fax number if applicable);
   2. Details of the application in respect of which you are making the submission;
   3. Whether it is in support of, or in opposition to the application, or is neutral;
   4. Your submissions, with reasons;
